How Termite Baiting System Works

Inspection & Species Identification
Our technician inspects the property to confirm active termite activity and identify the species present. This determines whether baiting is the right approach or should be paired with another treatment.

Bait Station Installation
In-ground stations are installed at regular intervals around the perimeter of the property, typically near known entry points and foraging areas.

Monitoring & Activity Check
Stations are inspected on a set schedule, typically every 4 to 6 weeks in the early phase, to check for termite feeding activity.

Bait Introduction & Colony Transfer
Once activity is confirmed, a bait containing an Insect Growth Regulator such as Chlorfluazuron replaces the monitoring cartridge. Worker termites feed on it and share it with the rest of the colony undetected.

Colony Elimination & Ongoing Monitoring

Is a termite baiting system effective against all termite species in Malaysia?
Baiting is most effective against Coptotermes gestroi, the species responsible for most structural damage in Malaysian homes. Macrotermes colonies respond less consistently to standard baiting and may need a combined approach with soil treatment or dusting.
Will bait stations damage my garden or driveway?
Stations are installed in small in-ground holes around the property perimeter, usually in soil or turf areas. They sit flush with the ground once installed and do not require ongoing digging once in place.
Is the bait safe for children and pets?
Yes. Bait is contained within tamper-resistant stations that stay sealed and are not accessible to children or pets. Our technicians will walk you through the station locations during installation.
How often are the bait stations checked?
